Where does your tea come from?
Our tea is sourced from various regions of Japan. We source much of our matcha from Uji, whereas our other teas are cultivated in regions such as Shizuoka and Kagoshima which are known to specialize in tea production.
Why is your matcha not graded?
Matcha sold outside of Japan is divided into an informal grading system. This grading system is a ploy that was developed for marketing purposes in the West and is instilled without moderation. Companies are able to assign a "grade" to their matcha without having any proper testing or checking on the accuracy of such quality levels. As a Japanese company, we do not want to assign obscure grades to our products as this is not a concept here.
How should I store the tea products?
We recommend that you store our teas away from light and sealed firmly in a cool environment. Placing it in the refrigerator is best to optimize long term freshness.
What is your policy on "best by" dates?
While it heavily depends, there will always be at least 3 months before the best by date. Upon opening, we do recommend that you consume all the contents within 1-2 months for the best quality.
The recommended serving size is too weak/strong, what should I do?
Our recommendation is based on the typical Japanese palate; however, you are free to adjust based on your preference. For a lighter taste, add less powder and/or more water. And those who prefer stronger flavors, add more powder and/or less water
